Sunport Shawl

I’m at the airport waiting to pick up my parents from their awesome cruise. I got here very early, of course, so I’m at the restaurant right by the gate. On a whim, I brought ball of lace weight yarn I bought at Taos (who knows how long ago) and decided to design my own shawl. I grabbed an appropriate hook and my new knit picks catalog and got comfortable.

I have an idea for a crochet version of a three wedge shawl, a la the (knitted) Jen Lucas variety. I picked the lace weight because it’s got plenty of yardage for me to play with and make something substantial that would keep at least my shoulders warm. I’m hoping it works out and when / if it does I will share the pattern with you!

Notes on the catalog, of course. I like it a lot so far! I even thought of the name based on my current location.

Funny thing is, I’m also working on a vest pattern with stripes crocheted in four different colors of Bamboo Pop. That’s working out too, but a little harder to write down as I’m literally making up each row as I go.

Luke is supervising as usual. I don’t have a name for this yet.

This one’s a little different, although it’s very easy to do. It’s only half double crochets and double crochets. The tricky part is that I’m making up the stripe pattern as I go along, so I guess I better start writing this down huh?

I think it’s pretty funny / neat that I finally got around to just making my own pattern because I couldn’t find what I was looking for, lol. I’ll keep you posted!
